An accountant's and an entrepreneur's work has traditionally been tied to a workplace: a laptop, an installed copy of 1C and a set of separate calculators for every task. To calculate payroll, check a tax or issue an invoice you have to sit down at a computer — even when the question is urgent and you want to resolve it right here and now.
The Qazaqsoft team built the BuhPracticum mobile app, which brings learning, calculations and documents together in one place. In this case study we break down what tasks the app solves, who it suits and how the product is built.
Accounting that's always in your pocket
The pace of work has changed. An outsourced accountant runs several companies and is constantly on the move, an entrepreneur handles financial matters between meetings, and a junior specialist studies in any spare minute.
Being tied to a desktop computer became the bottleneck: the tools exist, but they aren't always where the person actually is.
We started from a simple idea: most everyday accounting tasks can be done quickly and conveniently straight from a smartphone — without a laptop, without complex programs and without extra tools.
Who the app is for
BuhPracticum is designed for a broad audience for whom accounting and calculations are part of everyday work:
- accountants — for quick calculations, double-checking themselves and producing documents outside the office
- entrepreneurs and owners of sole proprietorships and LLPs — to plan payroll and tax costs without consulting a specialist on every minor question
- junior specialists and students — to learn accounting in a convenient mobile format
- small businesses without an in-house accountant — as an all-in-one toolkit that replaces several services at once
One thing unites them: the need to solve tasks quickly and where they arise, rather than where the work computer happens to be.
What problem the app solves
Before solutions like this appeared, an accountant and an entrepreneur in Kazakhstan faced several inconveniences at once:
- calculating payroll, taxes and mandatory payments required either 1C or scattered online calculators of dubious accuracy
- producing documents (an invoice, an act, a waybill) was impossible without access to an accounting program and a computer
- learning accounting happened separately — in courses, webinar recordings and textbooks unconnected to the real working tools
- all of it was tied to a workplace and a stable internet connection
As a result, even a simple operation turned into the task of getting to the laptop, opening the right program and recalling the formula. BuhPracticum brings learning, calculations and documents together in a single mobile app, available anytime and anywhere.
Online learning always at hand
The app's first block is learning. Accountants and those just entering the profession can take courses in a convenient mobile format. The app offers video lessons on different accounting topics that you can watch right from your phone — on the road, during a lunch break, at home in the evening.
This is especially valuable for specialists who don't want to be tied to a laptop and a workplace. Learning stops being a separate event and fits into everyday life: ten minutes free — watch a lesson, reinforce a topic, move on.
The courses cover both basic topics for beginners and more specialized questions for practicing accountants.
Calculators for accountants and entrepreneurs
The second block is a set of calculators useful not only to an accountant but also to a business owner. They help you understand costs in advance and avoid errors in calculations.
Inside the app you can quickly calculate:
- employees' wages and the take-home amount
- taxes and mandatory payments
- vacation pay
- sick leave
- other employee payments
For an entrepreneur this is a planning tool: even before hiring or accruing, you can see the real payroll burden. For an accountant it's a way to double-check yourself and not keep formulas in your head.
Maternity and pension payments
Calculating maternity and pension payments deserves special attention. These are usually the most painful computations: it's easy to make a mistake, you have to look up current formulas and manually recheck the result. BuhPracticum calculates them precisely — all the necessary tools are gathered in one app, and the user doesn't need to turn to outside sources.
Calculating tax penalties
If taxes were paid late, the app helps you calculate the penalty amount yourself. The user immediately sees the size of the debt, can prepare for payment in advance and avoid confusion. This removes the anxiety of how much do I owe now and turns the question into a concrete figure.

Documents without 1C and a laptop
The third and one of the key blocks is producing documents straight from a smartphone. In BuhPracticum you can create:
- an invoice for payment
- a certificate of completed work (act)
- a waybill
- a reconciliation statement
The user no longer has to open 1C, find a laptop or wrestle with complex programs. Documents are prepared quickly, conveniently and even without a constant internet connection — which matters especially for those who work in the field, in meetings or on the road.
For small businesses and sole proprietors this means an invoice for a client or an act can be prepared in a minute, without going back to the office.
What the user got in the end
With the BuhPracticum mobile app we simplified the everyday work of accountants and entrepreneurs and showed that accounting can be mobile, modern and accessible:
- without extra programs
- without being tied to a laptop
- without complicated actions
BuhPracticum unites three things that used to exist separately — accounting tools, learning and documents — in a single mobile app.
Why the mobile format matters
Moving accounting tools into a smartphone is not just a matter of convenience. It changes the very model of work. A calculation that used to be postponed until getting back to the office is now done immediately. A document the client expected the next day is produced during the meeting. Learning that required dedicated time fits into the pauses between tasks.
Offline access deserves a special mention: the key functions work without a constant internet connection. For Kazakhstan, with its distances and not always stable connectivity in the regions, this is a practical advantage, not just a checkbox on a feature list.
